The starting pool
Every draw starts from the same base pool: attendees who have actually checked in to the event, and whose registration isn't cancelled. Nobody who registered but never showed up is ever in the pool, and there's nothing to configure to get this — it's how Lucky Draw and check-in already talk to each other.
From there, two things narrow it further: two event-wide settings that apply to every prize, and eligibility criteria you can optionally set per prize. Neither is required — plenty of events just draw from every checked-in attendee for every prize.
Two event-wide settings
- Allow repeat winners — off by default. With it off, anyone who has already won any prize this event (that hasn't been voided) is excluded from every later draw. Turn it on if the same person should be able to win more than one prize.
- Exclude voided winners — off by default. A voided draw already frees that prize up to be re-drawn; turning this on additionally locks the person who was voided out of every other draw for the rest of the event, instead of just making them eligible again elsewhere.
Tip
One exclusion always applies no matter what: whoever already won a specific prize can never win that same prize again, even on a redraw. Redrawing a prize voids its previous (non-voided) draw and starts fresh from the pool, minus that permanent exclusion.
Restricting a specific prize
Open a prize's eligibility settings (the same "Who's eligible" builder Live bidding and Voting use) to narrow just that prize's pool. Nothing here affects any other prize — a grand prize can be far more restrictive than a door gift on the same event.
- Session attendance — restrict to attendees who checked into specific check-in session(s), either any one of them or all of them.
- Minimum sessions attended — must have checked into at least N sessions in total, for a multi-session event.
- Arrival time window — must have first checked in within a specific date/time range.
- Punctuality — must have checked into a specific session within N minutes of that session's scheduled start time. Needs that session to have a start time set.
- Custom field match — a registration field must contain a specific value (e.g. only attendees who selected a certain t-shirt size or dietary option).
- Minimum group size (pax) — the registration must cover at least N people.
- Queue participation — must have an entry in a specific queue.
- Group membership — must belong to one of the attendee groups you pick.
- Exclude winners of other prizes — anyone who already won specific other prizes is left out of this one, for a "grand prize winner can't also take a door gift" rule.
Tip
Every prize card shows how many people are currently eligible for it, live, before you draw — so a criteria change (or someone checking in) is reflected there before you commit to drawing.
Where staff fit in
A collaborator can be individually marked eligible to win prizes too, from your team settings — handy for a small team where staff are also genuinely part of the audience. This only applies to prizes with no eligibility criteria set at all: the moment a prize has any restriction configured, staff are automatically left out of it, since criteria are based on attendee registration data staff don't have. You can also explicitly exclude staff from one specific prize even when it has no other criteria.
Redrawing
A redraw only replaces that prize's own winner — it doesn't touch any other prize's result, and the permanent "already won this prize" exclusion still applies to whoever was drawn before, so they can't come back up on the redraw.
