Live streaming

Multiple sessions, hosted by different people, all live at once.

Joinlah streams straight from a phone or laptop camera — self-hosted, no third-party platform. Run one session or several concurrent ones, each with its own host and its own dedicated live chat, for a webinar, a multi-track online conference, or a hybrid event with a room and a remote audience watching the same moment.

Every session runs on its own — camera, chat, and staff.

Requires the Live Stream module

Create as many sessions as your event needs. Each one gets its own self-hosted camera feed and its own dedicated chat — a different staff member can start, pause, and end their own session without touching anyone else's, and attendees watching one session never see chat from a different one running at the same time.

  • Start, pause, and end each session independently
  • Assign specific staff to host a specific session
  • A dedicated live chat feed per session, not shared
  • Self-hosted stream — no external account or platform
  • Works for fully online events — no physical venue required

On the schedule, and on the venue's screen if you need it.

Pairs with Agenda — optional

Link a session to a slot on your event's agenda so attendees see when it's happening and a "live now" badge the moment you start it, with a direct link straight into that session. Running a hybrid event with a physical venue? Mirror any one session to the fullscreen display for the room — remote attendees keep watching from their own devices either way.

  • Schedule sessions on the public agenda with a real date and time
  • "Live now" badge and watch link appear automatically once started
  • Optionally mirror one session to the venue's fullscreen display
  • Attendees verify their registered email once, not per session

Live streaming, answered.

Can more than one session actually run at the same time?

Yes — Live Stream is built around concurrent sessions from the start. Create as many sessions as your event needs (a main stage plus a breakout, say), assign different staff to each, and every session gets its own camera and its own chat, running independently. Nobody's stream interrupts anyone else's.

Is the video hosted by a third party?

No — it's self-hosted, streamed directly from the host's phone or laptop camera to attendees with sub-second latency. There's no external platform account to create, and no separate meeting link to send: attendees watch from the same public event page they'd already use for anything else.

Does chat mix between sessions, or with the event's general chat?

Each session's chat is its own feed — attendees in one session's chat never see messages from a different concurrent session, and it's entirely separate from the event-wide Chat module if you also have that turned on.

Do attendees need to install anything to watch or chat?

No. Watching and chatting both work in a phone or laptop's web browser — attendees open a link (from their confirmation, a QR code, or the public event page) and that's it.

Can this work for a fully online event with no physical venue?

Yes — that's the common case. Live Stream doesn't require a venue or a fullscreen display at all; a session's video and chat are just as complete on their own for attendees joining entirely from home.

What if I also want it on the venue's projector for a hybrid event?

Turn on "Show on display" for whichever one session should be mirrored to the venue's fullscreen screen — remote attendees keep seeing every session on their own devices regardless, this only affects the physical screen at the venue.

Can I schedule sessions on the event agenda so people know when to tune in?

Yes — link a session to a slot on your event's agenda and it shows attendees the time, plus a "live now" badge and a direct watch link once you actually start it.
